Season 3 of Star Trek Picard Is A Masterclass On How To Weaponize Nostalgia

After 2 pretty good initial seasons under their belt, season 3 of Star Trek Picard has no right to be as good as it is. Billed that a love letter to the fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation and a final farewell to the original crew, this season has been an incredible ride. True, we’re once again dipping into the Borg “well”, but the writing has been ‘motion picture’ levels of good. They’ve found excellent ways to organically pull the entire crew back together (even the deceased Data), and made every single one of the crew (even the previously criminally underused Diana Troi and Beverly Crusher) an integral part of the overall plot. The penultimate episode entitle “Vox” was possibly the best episode of the season. And we’re hoping the series finale with send our favorite crew out with a bang…. hopefully all alive!
