Comic Book Pull List: July 17th , 2024

This week of good, if not leaning toward 'mid'. We started getting a sprinkling of DC Absolute Power tie-ins, a couple more Blood Hunt books dropped, as well as some #1's from Namor, The Phoenix, and Daredevil. But out the pack, the one that stood out was Gerry Duggan's swan song to Tony Stark...

Comic Book Pull List: July 10th , 2024

We got some final issues to Marvel's Blood Hunt tie-in books, DC's Absolute Power event kicking into full swing, and a great first issue of Jed McKay's post-Krakoan X-Men title. Even though the week was pretty good. Nothing really seemed to stand out of the list. But after a couple of days of thinking about it, I have to say the book that's stayed on my mind after reading has to be... Comic Book of The Week: The Ultimates #2 Camp / Frigeri / Blee When I heard Jonathan Hickman wouldn't be writing this issue, i lost all confidence in this book.…

Comic Book Pull List: July 4th , 2024

This was a week full of 'go home' tie-in issues for Marvel's Blood Hunt event, a few Wolverine one-shots just in time for Deadpool vs. Wolverine dropping later this month, and i found a nice indie double shot Dracula: After Man that i really enjoyed. But the surprise winner in my stack comes from DC! It's been a long time since i've been excited for a DC event, mainly because I feel so lost in their continuity... rebooted or otherwise. But what few pre-comics for Absolute Power i've read have been hinting so something pretty exciting, and now it's here. So of course…

Comic Book Pull List: June 26th , 2024

This was a BIG WEEK for my pull list. With 20+ issues, I got more than enough content to sift through. And of course, you know I blazed through most of my haul in a couple days, no problem. We got the penultimate issue for The Blood Hunt event, including 4 tie-ins and one-shots. I picked up the prelude issue to DC's upcoming mega event Absolute Power. And a fellow comic reader pressed me to pick up the crossover issues for House of Brainiac running through current issues of Superman and Action Comics. And even though it was an obvious choice to go with Blood Hunt #4…

This was a pretty good week for me. I got a lot of stuff I'd been expecting to read. We got the penultimate issue of Gerry Duggin's run on Invincible Iron Man, some suggested Spider-woman and She-Hulk issues, a few more Blood Hunt tie-ins, and a Batman issue sneaking into this all Marvel pull list. But when it comes to picks of the week, it's almost a certainty when Jonathan Hickman drops an issue. So...   Comic Book of The Week: Ultimate Spider-man #6 Hickman / Checchetto The cool thing about this reboot Ultimate Spider-man by Jonathan Hickman is week get some…

Works of crazy this week, so I got into my pull list a little late this week. And this week i focused on the latest issues and tie-ins to the Marvel Blood Hunt event, and some back issues of Deadpool. There's a couple issues of DC stuff in there too, but after what I read from Captain America, Sam Wilson in this weeks top pick, I'm all on board with Marvel's vampire invasion. So, of course, this week's pick of the week is..   Comic Book of The Week: THE Ultimates #1 MacKAY / Larraz / Garcia As we reach reach the mid-point…

Nothing much to say this week. All-in-all, a enjoyable pull list this week. My Marvel load was a little light, so I threw in a few DC books I wanted to check out when i had time. But the highlight of the week, is the latest addition to Marvels resurrection of the Ultimate Universe, and it seems, like as time, it's going to be the new flagship for the Ultimate Imprint. This week's pick is... Comic Book of The Week: THE Ultimates #1 Camp / Frigari At first, I didn't know how I would feel about the reboot of the Ultimate…

This week was my typical pull list: A bunch of Marvel comics... with a Batman comic thrown in for spice. In the Marvel bunch, we got a couple "Blood Hunt" tie-ins, a good number of Spider comics, and the final wrap up to the X-Men 'Krakoa Era'. But Zdarsky and Acuña dropped the final issue of their Avengers Elsworlds comic, so you know that had to be my pick of the week: Comic Book of The Week: Avengers: Twilight #6 Zdarsky / Acuña So, we've finally reached the final showdown between the The Defenders and Red Hull's forces for the soul…

This was a nice Marvel-only week of pulls. We got a nice crop of Spider books, a new volume of Ghost-Spider Gwen Stacy starting, more solid issue of Black Widow/Hawkeye and Ultimate Black Panther, and I got pick up couple trades I've been lacking: "Fear Itself", and Fabian Nicieza's run on 2021's "Juggernaut: Can't Be Stopped". But after just seeing the cover of this book, I predicted (successfully) that this book would be my pick of the week: Comic Book of The Week: The Spectacular Spider-Men #3 Weisman / Ramos All I need to do is see the Humberto Ramos-drawn covers…

Comic Book Pull List for May 15th, 2024

The was a pretty 'meh' week for my pull list. We got a couple of Blood Hunt event tie-ins and a couple X-comics wrapping up the Krakoan Era. It was so light, I added Brian Bendis' latest comic run so i could play catch up. But somewhere inside this sea of 'meh', Johnathan Hickman popped up writing as one-shot starring one of the coolest Marvel villains out there... so it HAD TO BE my pick up the week! Comic of the Week: Doom #1 Hickman / Greene Fans of Hickman will immediately recognize his signature style—complex storytelling, intricate world-building, and deep, philosophical undertones. In…
