Lightning Strikes Twice. Fallout Is Another Excellent Video Game Adaptation

You can tell an iconic show by the opening scene of its premiere episode. It sets the tone and anticipation for what's to come. The Walking Dead had Rick Grimes' first encounter with a zombie, having to shoot a dead little girl in the head. The Last of Us had the picture-perfect recreation of the video game's death of Sara Miller. And now, we have the 'perfect' opening scene of nuclear bombs dropping on Los Angeles that sets the tone for Fallout. The 'oh shit' wasn't the effect of the bombs dropping, but the look on Cooper's daughter's face witnessing…

Joint of The Moment: “Went Diamond” by Roc Marciano

An MC and producer from New York City's tradition-rich Long Island, Roc Marciano is well-respected for his moody, claustrophobic beats and stream-of-consciousness, heavily stylized lyrics. Briefly affiliated with Flipmode Squad early in his career, he formed the short-lived crew the U.N. during the early 2000s before going solo, earning massive acclaim for his self-produced 2010 full-length Marcberg. Collaborating with rappers and producers like Q-Tip, Ka, and Action Bronson, subsequent releases such as 2013's Marci Beaucoup and 2018's RR2: The Bitter Dose featured more experimental production as well as sharper lyricism. Numerous collaborations appeared during the early 2020s, including 2022's The Elephant…

Comic Book Pull List for April 10th, 2024

This week, we got a nice crop of X-Men comics, leading with Weapon X-Men and the 2nd issue of the divisive Ultimate X-Men. I picked up the Image Comics Spawn-adjacent #1, Rat City. And a couple of Batman comics to round out the pull list. Of course, the new Invincible Iron Man comic came out so it's my pick of the week. Comic Book of The Week: Invincible Iron Man #17 by Duggen / Zircher Even though The Orchis War has been an X-Men/mutant thing, I have to say my favorite war coverage has been inside of the Avengers tie-ins, preferably in Jed MacKay's Avengers, and Gerry…

Favorite Wrestler Theme Songs: Stone Cold Steve Austin

The Main Event between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania X-Seven is one of my favorite matches. And watching the unthinkable... Steve Austin turning heel to join forces with Vince McMahon was a crazy moment. But the icing on the cake came the following night on Monday Night War when Stone Cold came out to his new heel, "Glass Shatters" by Disturbed. IT was still Austin's theme, but more ominous and vicious. It summed up his new persona. I agree with a lot of people that turning Austin heel was a horrible decision and (even with a…
